This garage door threshold seal is glued to the floor with adhesive that is provided. The adhesive supplied with this product comes in a calk gun sized tube. This exact product is also available in a “Peel & Stick” version that is identical with the exception that the adhesive is bonded to the threshold during manufacturing, you simply peel back the protective paper and install the threshold.

Glue Down VS Peel & Stick:
Price, glue down is slightly less expensive than Peel & Stick.
Installation. Peel & Stick is easier to install than glue down threshold in that the adhesive is already applied to the threshold seal.
Basically, with Peel & Stick threshold seal installation is somewhat quicker and there are less steps involved in installation, however, Peel & Stick is slightly higher in cost. In most cases set up time for Peel & Stick is less than with the glue down threshold. The actual threshold material is virtually the same product in glue down and Peel & Stick.
Check out our videos on both the glue down and the Peel & Stick thresholds we carry.
Garage Door Weather Seal Threshold – Very easy to install.
One person can install the threshold seal but it is much easier with two people.
Unplug the garage door opener if present and put garage door in manual operation. Close the garage door and put pencil marks on the floor at the ends of the garage door. Open garage door fully and put clamps under the two bottom garage door rollers. Unroll the threshold roughly in the area of your pencil marks. Now gently close the garage door down to just above the threshold and clamp the door under any roller on each side of the door. Now slide the threshold into its approximate final position and make any cuts or do any notching or trimming that is needed in order to properly position the threshold. Once the threshold has been fitted to size, position the threshold under the door and gently close the garage door onto the threshold. if the door is heavy and you cannot move the threshold with the weight of the door on the threshold, lift the door 1/2″ and put a clamp under any roller on both sides of the door. You want to be able to just move the threshold and and the same time have the garage door holding the threshold lightly. Now position the threshold into its final and correct position. The hump of the threshold is to be up against the inside of the garage door but not in a manner that interferes with the the garage door weather seal on the bottom of the door. Do not smash the garage door weather seal against the door with the hump of the garage threshold seal. Now lower the garage door fully onto the threshold seal, step on the door and clamp the door down tightly. We now want the threshold held in place by the garage door. Now make a pencil mark along the inside and outside edge of the garage threshold seal onto the concrete floor. These lines are your guides for applying the adhesive and correctly positioning the threshold seal. Open the garage door fully and put clamps under both bottom garage door rollers. Remove threshold seal from the floor and thoroughly clean the bottom of the threshold seal and let dry. Roll up the threshold seal into a manageable sized roll, laying the threshold on it’s edge once it is clean will keep it clean. Now completely and thoroughly clean and DRY the area of the garage floor that the threshold seal is to be installed. This area must be completely free or any debris and must be DRY. Apply adhesive to the floor as indicated in the direction sheet. Starting on one end, place the threshold seal onto the adhesive keeping between the lines on the floor. Once you have laid the threshold seal out completely, gently lower the garage door onto the threshold seal. Make any final adjustments to the positioning of the threshold seal then step on the door and clamp the door down TIGHTLY onto the garage threshold seal. If there are any areas of the door that are not contacting the threshold seal, use shims under the door to insure that the door is pressing down on the threshold seal through out its entire width, we want the door contacting the threshold seal at all points. Use several clamps above the garage door rollers to insure that the garage door stays tightly pressed to the garage threshold seal. Vise grips work great for this. It is imperative that the floor and the threshold seal are kept dry during the curing of the adhesive. Set up / curing times will vary depending on temperatures and humidity. It is advisable to leave the door pressed down for a minimum of 3 days in optimal weather conditions, longer if it is cooler or humid. If there is the threat of rain during the time period that the adhesive is setting up / curing, use plastic to form a tent from the garage door over the threshold and immediate area.
