Wayne Dalton seal falls into a category of its own, it is not a true bead seal, nor is it a traditional T style seal.

Wayne Dalton Seal has its own unique design at the point that the weather seal slides into the retainer on the bottom of the garage door.

Described as an oval shaped bead this seal is exclusive to Wayne Dalton brand garage doors.

Do not confuse Wayne Dalton weather seal with Bead or T style weather seal.

This is not the only style of garage door weather seal that Wayne Dalton uses on its garage doors but it is by far their most common type used.

There are two things to look at in order to determine if this is the correct weather seal for your door.
One, pull out and cut off a small length of the existing weather seal, look closely at the ends of the seal that slide into the retainer on the door.
Next, Wayne Dalton usually stamps or puts stickers on the edge of the door.
It is a good idea to look at both of these, the existing seal and the edge of the door.

Wayne Dalton 1″ doors

Wayne Dalton has a series of doors that are 1″ thick, we do have seals for these 1″ doors.

We carry a KIT for the 1″ thick Wayne Dalton doors here – WAYNE DALTON GARAGE DOOR WEATHER SEAL KIT

We also carry an aluminum retainer for the 1″ Wayne Dalton door here – GARAGE DOOR BOTTOM RETAINER 1-1/2 X 1

-Easy to install, remove old weather seal, clean and straighten the bottom retainer if needed.
-Check the ends of the retainer, they may have been pinched when the weather seal was originally installed.
-Spray lubricant into the channels of the retainer.
-One person guides the seal into the tracks, one person pulls the weather seal.
-Do not stretch the weather seal tight, move it along the bottom of the door until it is not being stressed or stretched, cut off any excess.
-Then lightly crimp the ends of the channel to hold the garage door bottom weather stripping in place.

NOTE:

If you have a situation that requires a wider seal, or if there is a gap issue that will not be corrected with this standard weather seal.
Consider replacing the bottom retainer to a more standard 1/4″ T style.
That will allow you to use a wide variety of types and styles of weather seal.
