High quality Vinyl astragal weather stripping.
This heavy duty 1/4″ T style weather seal in GRAY and BLACK is by far the most common weather seal in use today.
We stock a wide variety of this type of 1/4″ T style – U shape seal.
Various styles and materials to suit any job site condition.
Very easy to install.
-Remove old weather seal, clean and straighten the bottom retainer if needed.
-Check the ends of the retainer, they may have been pinched when originally installed, open those ends up if needed.
-Spray lubricant into the channels of the retainer, WD40 or a like product works well for this. One person guides the seal into the tracks, one person pulls the weather seal.
-Do not stretch the weather seal tight, move it along the bottom of the door until it is not being stressed or stretched.
-Cut off any excess and lightly crimp the ends of the channel to hold the garage door bottom weather stripping in place.
In situations where the existing bottom retainer of the door will not accept this type of weather seal and you need or want to use this type of weather seal, simply replace the bottom retainer on the door. We carry a wide variety of garage door retainers for the bottom of the door that will accept this type of garage door weather seal. With the correct retainer and weather seal combination, we can help you seal any garage door to any floor.
